Guardian Druid Stat Priority
On this page, we explain what the best statistics are for Guardian Druids in World of Warcraft WoD 6.2.2, how the class benefits from each of them.
The statistics priority is important as it influences itemisation choices (gear, enchants, and gems).
1. Basics↑top
The stat priority for a Guardian Druid is:
- Stamina (until you have enough, see below);
- Bonus Armor;
- Mastery;
- Multistrike;
- Versatility;
- Haste;
- Critical Strike.
These statistics have been obtained by combining common sense, in-game testing, and simulations using Simulation Craft.
2. Getting a Better Understanding↑top
Most encounters have abilities that cannot be mitigated or avoided. Also, you need to have a decent amount of health, in order to give yourself the chance to be healed before a subsequent attack kills you. As such, you need a minimum amount of Stamina. This amount will, in most cases, simply come from the Stamina found innately on your gear. Therefore, you should never have to go out of your way to gem for Stamina.
Bonus Armor improves Physical damage reduction, and increases attack power.
Mastery ( Mastery: Primal Tenacity) grants you a Physical damage absorption shield each time you are hit by a Physical attack, equal to a percentage of that attack's damage.
Multistrike causes your abilities to have a chance to hit/heal a second and a third time, each time dealing 30% of the initial damage/heal.
Critical Strike greatly increases your Rage generation (thanks to Primal Fury), which in turn allows you to use your survival abilities more often.
Versatility increases all your damage and healing done, and decreases all damage taken.
Haste also improves your Rage generation, and reduces the cooldown of Mangle, indirectly boosting your survivability. It also provides you more autoattacks, which increases the amount of procs from Tooth and Claw that you will get.
